On the Alabama Legislative Calendar for 09 April 2009

According to the ALISON Database the following bills (in addition to a mountain of others) will be under discussion in their respective chambers on the 9th of April, 2009. Please take the time to contact your representative(s) and senator(s) and let them know what you think.

House Bills
HB362 - Storage of Firearms in a Motor Vehicle - with one substitution
The substitution exempts railroads from the provisions of this bill. It is not like adding them to the exemption list is a big deal. There are many others like, "(2) An employer providing employees with a secure parking area which restricts general public access through the use of a gate, security station, security officers, or other similar means which limit public access into the parking area." Which means anyone who has a gate and a fence can ignore this legislation.
- Committee Action: (15 Yea v. 0 Nay) / 1st Substitution
Read Second Time in House of Origin - 26 Mar 2009

HB528 - Explosive Devices, WMD, etc... - with one substitution
The substitution repairs a typographic error changing a 17 to a 20 in the enumeration of a list.
- Committee Action: (11 Yea v. 0 Nay) / 1st Substitution
Read Second Time in House of Origin - 05 Mar 2009

HB680 - Amdt to Uniform Residential Landlord and Tenant Act - with one substitution
The substitution appears to do the following: address some change to when the landlord may show the property, redact some redundant verbage about what is considered a non curable default and add some verbage to clarify eviction processes.
- Committee Action: (11 Yea v. 0 Nay) / 1st Substitution
Read Second Time in House of Origin - 26 Mar 2009

- Committee Action: (5 Yea v. 0 Nay)
Read Second Time in House of Origin - 12 Feb 2009
