Can we ever learn? Probably not...

"For the U.S. auto industry, communication was not used to read and respond to the environment; it was used to oppose it."

This is really a pretty quick read that can be linked to from here. The discussion regards how the aggregate industry can profit from lessons learned (or should have been learned) by Ford, GM and Chrysler. It is, quite simply, a statement of the obvious that many of us can also profit from.
