Alabama House Bill 432 - Privacy of Pistol Permit Holders

This bill is in the Judiciary Committee and is pending committee action in the House of origin. From the ALISON Database you expand the Bills drop down, then expand the Search drop down and then select Keyword and enter HB432 (no spaces between HB and 432). From the synopsis, House Bill 432 goes as follows...

Under existing law, a person is required to have a pistol permit issued by the sheriff in order to carry a pistol concealed on or about his or her person or in a vehicle. Also, under existing law, government records are generally open to the public. This bill would provide that records relating to pistol permits would be exempt from disclosure as a public record and may only be used for law enforcement purposes.

This bill has been introduced by Representative John G. "Jack" Page III (D) representing Etowah & Dekalb counties. Thank you Mr. Page.

On a personal note, this needs to be enacted. No further discussion required.
